Young footballers competed for “NorDan Cup”

First Youth Football Tournament “NorDan Cup” was held in Mazeikiai on June 19th. 240 young footballers from seven different football clubs and schools around Lithuania pitted against each other in the event.

Children competed in two age categories, players who were born in 2012 and 2010.

In the first group, all players won medals. While in the second group, FC “Atmosfera” from Mazeikiai took out the title, beating Klaipeda FM.

“Thank you for your energy and love of football. I am glad you play sports - that is all that matters”, said Giedrius Žilėnas, Managing Director of NorDan, UAB congratulating winners of the tournament.

“Events like this are much-needed. Especially when football matches were canceled due to the Coronavirus. It’s not only a great opportunity to compete against your peers, but it’s also a nice celebration for all who love football”, said Nerijus Gudaitis, the representer of FC “Atmosfera” and one of the tournament’s organizers.

The Youth Football Tournament “NorDan Cup” was the result of a collaboration between NorDan, UAB, and FC "Atmosfera" to promote football and talents development.

It is expected that the event takes place again next year, with even more young footballers taking part.
