Working towards a greener future

One of the most important goals industries should set for themselves today, is to become a sustainable enterprise and to impact the environment as negatively as little as possible, while giving back to our community, workers, and planet. Here at NorDan UAB, we have taken several steps to ensure that we are on the right track and are staying on it.

Sustainable practices

Sustainability is included in our very own business strategy and having drawn both inspiration and wisdom from the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, we have in turn adopted and enforced many sustainable practices.

In 2021, our production building was renovated to become more energy efficient. We replaced the windows, the insulation of the external walls, and the cladding of the façade. These improvements have helped us use less heating energy, reducing our cost and carbon footprint.

Sustainable products with sustainable materials

Hydro Circal.

By using Hydro Circal, high-quality recycled, low-carbon aluminium, we ensure that the quality of the product continues to stay at the same high level that our customers have come to expect, while at the same time utilizing aluminium that has reached the end of its end-of-life as a product and is brought back into the loop through recycling efforts.

Reduxa.

Another great material we use from Hydro is their Reduxa aluminium. This is a high-quality, greener low-carbon aluminium. Hydro's energy in producing this aluminium comes from water, wind, and solar power sources. It’s estimated that the reduction of the carbon footprint of each kg of material is only 4, which is less than 1/4th of the global average.

uPVC Arctic series

For our uPVC products, specifically our Arctic and Arctic-lite series, we use European uPVC profiles containing 20-49% recycled materials. All the uPVC used in our production is 100% recyclable and can be recycled up to 8 times.
